Recycled Glass
At Weldaad, we believe beauty starts with intention. Our glassware is a clear reflection of that belief. From softly shaped vases to festive ornaments and everyday tumblers, each piece is handmade, often from recycled glass. It’s a choice that reflects what we value most: craft, character, and care for the planet.
The process is as honest as the result. Discarded bottles, jars and glass fragments are collected, cleaned, sorted by colour and crushed into small pieces. These are then melted down and given new life, either through traditional mouth-blowing or by being shaped in handmade moulds. No two pieces turn out exactly the same, and that’s precisely the point.
Visiting one of our glassmakers feels like stepping out of time. You see glowing glass being turned, shaped and gently blown by hand. The colours are added during the melting process, not sprayed on later, which gives them their natural depth and makes each piece food-safe by nature.
You might notice a few air bubbles, a soft curve that’s not quite symmetrical, or a subtle shift in tone. These are not flaws, but the quiet traces of the hands that shaped them. They give each object its own rhythm, texture and soul.
By working with recycled glass, we reduce energy use and emissions — and we honour materials that already exist. It’s a way of creating that looks forward and backward at the same time.
Whether you’re drawn to a green vase, a transparant carafe or a softly tinted tealight holder, you’re choosing more than a decorative object. You’re choosing something made with care, meant to last, and ready to bring quiet character into your home.
